A bit about me
Born in London, brought up in Milton Keynes and married to a wonderful Scottish Man who has brought me over to his country, I'm Ikra! Very nice to meet you. I'm a primary school teacher by profession, blogger in my spare time and photographer by passion.
- I've always adored being behind the lens, capturing special moments and teaching myself to edit photos beautifully.
- The first wedding I shot was when I was 14, I took photos of every moment and surprised the happy couple (my uncle and his wife) with a cute photobook a couple of weeks later - little did I know that photographing events would be a thing I LOVED doing over a decade later.
- I studied Developmental and Educational Psychology at University and went on to get my PGCE. I really enjoy teaching...but my real passion is in photography. This is a side hustle for now, but I hope one day it'll be my main thing. The stuff of dreams.
- If I had to describe my photography style in two words, they would be: emotive and documentary. Photographs should emit emotion, since they are a precious moment which has been captured beautifully forever. And I love natural/candid/documentary shots. Don't get me wrong, posed pictures have an important place, but for me, the documentary style is just perfection. I adore being a fly on the wall and capturing REAL emotion, they truly are then a reflection of what it was like being at the event. A stunning memory encapsulated forever.
EVENTS & SHOOTS
I photograph pretty much all events, from birthday parties, bridal/baby showers and engagement parties to mehndis and dholkis. Of course, photographing weddings is one of my most favourite types of occasions to be asked to capture!
I also offer both mini-shoots which are 20-30 minute sessions and full family/couple shoot sessions. These are fantastic for getting beautiful photos of you with your loved ones, in your favourite setting.

The finished product
I am a Fujifilm shooter, for so many wonderful reasons. I have invested in excellent lenses, as well as professional editing software. What many clients don't realise is a photograph is 60% the editing time and 40% composition and shooting. The time poured into editing your final shots is immense, the care to correct and complete each picture is taken very seriously and even a two hour event or shoot can take up to 12 hours+ afterwards to edit to perfection.
When you are investing in a photographer, you are investing in their time, skill, equipment, effort, love, attention to detail and passion.
In turn you will receive your own secure client gallery and from here you can download your beautiful memories. Should you wish to have some (or all) of your images printed professionally, you'll also be able to do that with the click of a button from the store.
As of Summer 2021, personalised USBs are also available, which will hold onto your memories forever.
